In the press conference, the Lahore-based journalists criticized Pakistani film actors especially Mehwish Hayat for keeping a beef with them. Reporters asked a few harsh questions related to the divide between Lahore Vs Karachi film industry, they also complained about the behaviour with the reporters. In the start, the reporter was debating with Mehwish Hayat for not accepting an offer from Lahore, for a Punjabi project. The reporter also asked, “There was a film industry in Lahore, later on, the industry was shifted to Karachi, why the Karachi-based filmmakers don’t like Lahore-based filmmakers?”. To this question, Mehwish Hayat said, “How can you say that we don’t like Lahoris, this is quite a judgemental remark on our behalf”, Reporter further said that producers prefer Karachi-based people, they also said that we are Pakistanis, not India, Mehwish Hayat further said that her management is good, they don’t misbehave. She also said that she didn’t refuse any Punjabi film offer, she said that she didn’t get any offer, and she says that she would love to do a good script from Lahore. Mehwish Hayat said that her team is in Los Angeles but she’s personally reading all her emails.
