Earlier this year in January the whole nation was shook by the brutal rape and murder of 7-year old Zainab in Kasur. Everyone from the civil society, politicians and showbiz fraternity came together to ask for justice, and as a result of continuous efforts the murderer Imran Ali was hanged today in Lahore. The accused was also involved in rape and murder of seven other minor girls, hence he was given an accumulated 21 times hanged till death capital punishment. Actress Armeena Khan — who is an advocate for anti-capital punishment policy – also expressed relief on Zainab’s parents getting some closure today. However she added that police training, child protection laws and accountability should be in place to ensure such heinous crimes can be prevented.

In addition to the aforementioned, Sania Saeed, Ahsan Khan and Tv anchor Iqrar Ul Hassan also appeared on morning show and discussed importance of this execution that might help prevent future instances of same nature. The celebrities shared same views on swift justice that is exemplary in Pakistan’s history.
