Ali Zafar Gives Thumbs Up to Bollywood’s Cover of ‘Jhoom’

Ali Zafar Gives Thumbs Up to Bollywood’s Cover of ‘Jhoom’. The much-anticipated Bollywood cover of Pakistan’s chart-topping track “Jhoom” has finally arrived, receiving a seal of approval from the original artist himself Ali Zafar. The revamped version, titled “Dil Jhoom,” is part of the upcoming Bollywood film Crakk, starring Vidyut Jammwal, Nora Fatehi, and features the dynamic collaboration of Indian playback singer Shreya Ghoshal and composer Vishal Mishra.

The recreation seems to have followed all protocols of crediting the original artist, as Ali Zafar’s name prominently features in promotional materials and is acknowledged in the YouTube music video description for having “originally written and composed” the song.

Ali Zafar is one of the biggest stars in Pakistan. He is a multi-talented artist and people love his music a lot. He also came into acting and proved his mettle with Bollywood films and later on with Pakistan’s first big non-holiday release post revival of the industry, Teefa In Trouble. Ali has since been working mostly on his music and he has taken a break from acting.

Ali Zafar, upon learning about the homage to his hit song, responded graciously on Twitter. “Thank you for your kind words, Shreya Ghoshal. You’re one of the most inspiring and iconic singers of our time,” he wrote, acknowledging the appreciation from a fellow artist.

Unlike most T-Series songs that plagiarize Pakistani songs without shame, “Dil Jhoom” pays homage to the soulful melody created by Ali Zafar. The Teefa in Trouble star expressed his contentment with Bollywood’s recreation in response to a Twitter post by T-Series announcing the song’s release.
