On Thursday, the internationally acclaimed screenwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar arrived in Lahore with his wife the celebrated actress Shabana Azmi to attend an international literature event, surprising their fans on this side of the border. The duo is in Lahore to attend the 4th Faiz International Festival because Javed Akhtar’s father Jan Nisar Akhtar and Shabana Azmi’s father Kaifi Azmi were both literary giants and contemporaries of Faiz Ahmed Faiz.
It has been reported that the couple reached Pakistan via Wagha Border and will be staying over the weekend to be a part of the three-day long event. While talking to the Pakistani media, the veteran actress expressed her wish to strengthen the relationship between the two countries. She said;
I Have Come To Pakistan With A Message Of Peace And Strongly Believe That Both Countries Should Have Cordial Relations.
