Palette is a Karachi based upcoming brand of eastern and western women’s wear founded by Sara Qayyum in 2012. Sara is a textile design graduate from Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. She enrolled for a course in Pattern Making from the Istituto di Moda Burgo, Milan after completing her studies in Indus Valley to learn about high quality garment construction. After gaining much knowledge about both worlds of textiles and fashion, Palette was born.
Palette is a brand that focuses on providing women a wide array of choices, whether it be the latest trends or timeless pieces. The use of ancient textile crafts, such as, hand embroidery and block printing are used to enhance modern and elegant cuts. The end result is sophisticated yet creative. The clothes are designed for the busy woman of today who needs an elegant yet practical wardrobe to look her best on any occasion she might have to attend.
The debut Fall/Winter Collection 2012-13 of Palette comprises of a lot of dip-dyed fabrics and feminine nets which are major trends this season. Other fabrics used are the timeless silk dresses, velvet, brocade, chikan kari and heavy chiffon dresses. Colours of fabrics used are mainly neutrals such as whites, gold, fawn, and black along with some rich bold colours such as, purples and magenta suitable for the winters.
You will find unique silhouettes such as the asymmetrical bodice wrap around tunic which is a modern twist of an angarkha. Palazzo pants, western tops and winter coats are also available in different sizes. Embroideries and block prints used are mainly in metallic silver and gold to give a rich look and the embroidery patterns are inspired by birds and baroque art.
Palette will be available at the Family Hall of BBQ Tonight, Karachi from November 2012. Clients can visit the shop between 12pm-7pm to try on the clothes for sizing and view all items that will be on display. There will be a unique stock, accommodating all body types.
