Our stars Fawad Khan, Mehwish Hayat, Samina Ahmed, Nimra Bucha, Ahad Raza Mir and Humayun Saeed acted in international series while a Pakistani film Joyland became the first movie of the country to screen at the Cannes Film Festival and also win an award. Joyland also released in Pakistan amid controversy and managed to get mixed reviews from the audience. However the film has managed to get recognition and accolades from around the world.
Education activist-turned-movie-producer, Malala Yousfzai, is visiting people who were affected by the monsoon floods in the Chhandan area of Juhi, district Dadu, Sindh. Sindh’s Minister for Health, Dr. Azra Pechucho, Minister for Education, Syed Sardar Shah; and humanitarian and singer, Shehzad Roy, accompanied her under strict security measures. After winning at Cannes, Joyland is all set for its Oscars journey as it becomes the first Pakistani film to get shortlisted for International Feature Film Category.

Malala Yousafzai has recently announced the news of her Nikkah on Twitter. She has tied the knot with Asser Malik who is General Manager of PCB’s High Performance and Co-founder LMS Pakistan. She has also shared some pictures from the nikkah ceremony with the caption “Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead”.
