Some are even promoting the hashtag “Boycott Hum Awards” on social media. Amidst the chaos, celebrities – who were out of the country on Election Day – have also come forward to clarify/defend their positions.

Hania Aamir posted her wish of being able to be in Pakistan at the time of elections which has not fulfilled due to her prior work commitments.
