This proposal was made after singer Meesha Shafi failed to appear in the Lahore Court of Appeal for slandering her. One of the most recent controversies is the lawsuit between Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi. When Meesha Shafi sexually harassed Ali Zafar, the scandal between the two artists began. When people praised her for raising her voice, Meesha led the #MeToo movement.

Despite the accusations, the singer missed several court dates related to the case between her and Ali Zafar.

Meesha Shafi is currently in Canada, but her witnesses have not yet appeared in court. It is worth mentioning that Meesha was on the Lahore highway in Karachi during the rape protest.

At the last hearing, Saqib Jillani, Meesha’s lawyer, told the court that his clients can cross-examine (zoom) through video calls. However, Umer Tariq Gill, Ali Zafar’s lawyer, rejected the proposal, saying that if the Apex court’s requirements are not met, no evidence can be recorded via Skype or Zoom.

Ali Zafar’s lawyer suggested that his client would be willing to pay for Meesha Shafi’s travel expenses, hoping that she would appear in court.
