Akshay Kumar Criticized Heavily for Defending Anti Pakistan Film. Bollywood film industry is among the most successful film industries in the world. Pakistanis have grown up watching Bollywood films and their stars always receive a lot of love in Pakistan. From the three Khans to Akshay Kumar, all of them have always gathered a lot of love from Pakistani fans but since Modi’s government has come in India, their whole landscape and mindset as a country has changed. Ban culture in Bollywood has pushed many actors to choose Hindutva and nationalist scripts so their movies work as propaganda films like The Kashmir Files is what is mostly working in India. Akshay Kumar also did a nationalist film titled Bell Bottom last year.

Pakistan and India relationship has been turbulent over the past two years. Initially, artists from both countries were wrapped up in politics with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees placing a ban on Pakistani artists and Pakistan’s subsequent Bollywood ban. However, some artists preached love not hate. One such artist is Akshay Kumar.

Be it fans or celebrities Akshay Kumar is loved by all and is everyone’s favourite. As the actor turned 53 today on September 9th, social media is flooded with happy birthday messages for him. The Mission Mangal star refused to have his character badmouth Pakistan. The Bollywood star went as far as threatening to leave the film.

In his 2007 film, Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo the actor refused to degrade Pakistan. Akshay Kumar demanded that the political connotations were deleted from the script or he’d walk out.

Akshay Kumar was a guest at the Re Sea International Film Festival where a Pakistani fan was present. He asked Akshay that he appreciates his films on social issues but why did he sign an anti-Pakistan film. People however, are not very satisfied by his answer as Akshay gets severe criticism by downplaying negative effects of cinema:
