Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) issued a show-cause notice to HUM TV for showing immoral scenes in drama serial ‘Udaari’.
The notice was sent to the makers of Udaari, after the episode which was aired on May 8. As per sources, PEMRA served notice to the makers of Udaari for showing unethical scenes of an uncle (played by Ahsan Khan) forcefully getting intimate with her niece. It also states that the same episode also shows Ahsan Khan’s wrong intentions for his stepdaughter.
PEMRA says that these type of scenes are not family safe, and they give rise to the evil in the society. The electronic media authority also claimed that it received many complaints against the drama serial on it’s Twitter account and helpline number.

However, many viewers of the drama serial and even some famous Pakistani celebrities have stood against PEMRA’s notice. Ahsan Khan, who is playing the role of an uncle with evil thoughts, said: “We as a nation need to educate each other on such issues and drama ‘Udaari’ is the best medium to do so. We need to look beyond saas bahu plays to create awareness in our society.”
It is to be noted that Udaari also raised awarness about child abuse at Bridal Couture Week 2016.
There are no corrupt scenes in Udaari. Any individual who is mature enough to comprehend what is going on is additionally mature enough to be taught on the best way to ensure their and others’ youngsters. We have a issue in our society where kids are manhandled by the very people who parents trust with their kids. We need to acknowledge this threat and educate the society how to stop it.
