The Dubai Fashion Week was just around the corner, so how could i just let it pass without commenting about it.

Samah Ali’s Collection In Dubai Fashion Week

Starting from the first day Samah Ali presented her collection with the theme Luxury Dubai which was specially for the elegant women of Arab.She was announced as the winner for Emerging talent.

Sakina Mohsin’s Collection Ajmal Al Naas

Sakina Mohsin presented a very Arab based collection called Ajmal al Naas (Beautiful people). The collection consisted mainly of long gowns and maxi dresses with alot of cuts and layers here and there.The colour scheming was diverse from plum to white to feroza. She mostly used chiffon, georgette, silk and satin in her line.

Mariam Al Mazros Collection Mimi In DXB Fashion Show

Mariam Al MAzros collection Mimi fashions was all about mixing and matching of different printed georgettes and all the dresses were long with a hint of layers, I didn’t like it personally Her other collection called Gmaash emphasized on the western wear.Losai Naseem’s LomarThobe collection was the only menswear collection with the aim of connecting the region’s youth with their culture. It consisted of rich shades and dark hues.

Designer Saba in Dubai Fashion Week

Saba’s collection Al Chantel was mostly inspired by our eastern culture but it had so many looks ranging from eastern to western with a touch of the 1970’s class. The collection was very glamorous with alot of stone and crystal work especially on the eastern attire, it was elegant and magical.

Al Motahajiba’s Collection 2011

Al Motahajiba’s collection emphasized the label’s philosophy that strives to infuse modern sensibilities into the traditional abaya.Beautifully feminine and fresh colours could be seen.

HSY the Show Stopper at Dubai Fashion Week Day One

The last designer of the day, the show stopper HSY had a collection for both women and men to show. Very eastern with vibrant dusky shades, heavily embroidered and impressive colour mixing. A part of his collection reminded me of Sindbad and it was a brilliant attempt, I loved it :D.
